About Us

Coastal Insurance Services Ltd. was founded in Vancouver in 1983 by Michael & Joann Thompson. Both of the principals had many years of insurance experience in senior positions with major, well respected Insurance Companies and Brokers prior to starting their own Insurance Brokerage.

Since inception, Coastal has concentrated on employee education and professionalism and as a result has a stable and professional staff that is among the most well respected in the entire insurance profession. Our full time staff of 25 provides over 360 years of accumulated experience for our clients to draw upon.

Coastal has grown significantly over the years. In 1989, in order to service our clients better, we moved our head office from Vancouver to Port Coquitlam to provide expanded offices and facilities. Since then we have continued to grow and participate in the good will of the community and lower mainland of B.C.

Coastal provides a wide range of insurance products for Home, Business and the Construction Industry through many of the finest insurers in the world with Canadian, French, German, Swiss, British and U.S. financial roots.

Coastal proudly insures risks as small as $10,000 in value and as large as $250 million. We pride ourselves in the continuity of service we provide to our clients "after the sale".
